Pre-Professional

The Steffi Nossen School of Dance and Center for Movement offers pre-professional training to those dancers who have shown the dedication, focus and desire to train at an accelerated rate. This unique training program provides the students with the necessary tools to excel in technique and performance ability while building creativity and sense of teamwork by working collaboratively to create a memorable artistic experience.

The Steffi Nossen School of Dance emphasizes the art, joy and discipline of dance. Our faculty and choreographers nurture the technical and artistic development of each student, helping them to reach their potential and flourish in an ensemble setting.

Training and Performing Ensembles are taught in a variety of diverse disciplines, styles and levels. Auditions are required for the school’s Master Class Program and Steffi Nossen Dance Company. All other Performing groups are open to students taking two or more weekly technique classes.

“We just came home from the Connecticut College Dance Club fall show… Jocelyn and her co-presidents produced, managed, choreographed for and danced in this showcase. It was wonderful and it highlighted everything she learned at Steffi both in the studio and watching the years of show production. We are all still so grateful to the Steffi crew.” Amy Lewis, Parent of Alumna

“My formative teaching years with the school, as well as my tenure as artistic director, were some of the most edifying times in my entire career.  I reflect on the lessons I learned and the people I met while at Steffi/Dance in Education Fund, as important moments that helped to define me as an artist and as an educator.  I am so grateful for every single one of those moments.” Michael Foley; Associate Professor of Dance Director, USF Dance in Paris Programs School of Theater
