Tapping into years of experience working with “Third Rail Projects,” a NYC immersive theater group, Gierre Godley’s piece, “ON TRUST” speaks to the ideas of building trust with self, with your community/other that look like you, and those who don’t. How do we develop relationships that help us heal from the wounds of the past? How do we allow ourselves as black men to feel safe, to be vulnerable enough, to heal? How does the world present itself as a trusting space for black men?

Olivia Passarelli, an award-winning, up-and-coming choreographer, partners with Sophie Gray-Gaillard, a dance artist-by-day neuroscientist-by-night, to bring you Tide.

Tide explores the cyclical ebb and flow of relationships, at times allowing it to surrender to the will of gravity. Examining the complexities of intimacy and commitment, Tide reflects back to the reverberations of everyday actions and the shifts they incur.

CRDANCE COMPANY takes choreography beyond stage-based performance to map new ideas onto the history of dance. Known for its visceral use of movement, this Italian and American dance company was founded in 2007 by Artistic Director, Caterina Rago. CRDANCE COMPANY will present LABIR INTO (excerpt) performed by our very own Steffi Nossen Dance Company. The New York Times called LABIR INTO  a work that “speaks to how we navigate our interior dead ends and false turns on the unclear path to self-awareness.”
