KRISTINA BERGER
Kristina
Berger from Washington D.C., has toured internationally as performer
and teacher. Her professional adventures include principal dancer with Erick
Hawkins Dance Company, a founding member of SWATT, member of Molissa Fenley & Dancers,
and a teacher of the Horton Technique. She discovered her love of the Horton
Technique as a scholarship student at Jacob’s Pillow studying with Jimmy
Truitte. Kristina has since performed as soloist with the Lester Horton Dance
Theatre, Inc. under the direction of Don Martin, and worked as assistant/demonstrator
to Milton Myers for several years. Ms. Berger has been on dance faculty at
Marymount Manhattan College for eight years. Other ongoing teaching credits
include Steffi Nossen School of Dance, Steps on Broadway, Belvoir Terrace,
Performing Arts Center of Conn. with guest artist positions at La Guardia
High School of Performing Arts, Taiwan National University of the Arts, University
of Las Vegas, and Boston Youth Moves. She has danced with the Joyce Trisler
Danscompany and Washington Opera Ballet. Other adventures include solo guest
artist as the first female “Hanuman The Monkey King” with Bali’s foremost
music and dance company, Semara Ratih, under NYC’s Balinese American Dance
Theatre and circus dancer with Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus.
LEILAH JOY BOWSER
Leilah Joy Bowser, known as Lei-Joy, holds a Bachelors Degree in
Dance Education from Montclair State University. Throughout her years spent
at MSU working towards a career teaching dance, she also studied and trained
in dance techniques: Jose Limon modern technique, contemporary modern,
jazz, ballet and hip hop. She aspires to achieve versatility as a performer.
Lei Joy currently dances with a small developing company in Piscataway,
NJ, the "Work of Art Dance Theatre”. In addition, she is a new member
of DiMauro Dance. She is very pleased to be a fourth year teacher at Steffi
Nossen School of Dance.
CHRISTIAN CLAESSENS
studied on full scholarship at S.A.B., the ABT School,
Rosella Hightower’s Centre de Dance and the Conservatoire de la Monnaie
in Belgium. He performed with Kansas City Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater
and the Dutch National Ballet. He has been a teacher and choreographer
in Westchester for over a decade and begins his third year at Steffi
Nossen School of Dance.
JESSICA DIMAURO
a Steffi Nossen alumna, graduated from Marymount Manhattan College
with a BFA in Dance. Jessica's company DiMauro Dance has been performing
for over eight years. Ms. DiMauro’s choreography has been seen at venues
throughout the Tri-state area including The John Ryan Theatre, The Abrons
Arts Center, The Crystal Theater, Steps on Broadway, Purchase College,
Peridance Center, The Arts Exchange and The Irvington Town Hall Theater.
DiMauro Dance has been selected to perform at numerous festivals and curated
showcases including WHITE WAVE's COOL NY, The HATCH presenting series,
Dance Conversations at The Flea, CT Meets NY, Queens Arts Express and New
Dance Downtown.. Jessica is on faculty at Montclair State University and
Dutchess Community College. She is a Certified Personal Trainer and Group
Fitness Instructor. She begins her seventh year on faculty at Steffi Nossen.

ANNIE
DOSS
received her BFA in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College and also
studied at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. A Steffi Nossen alumna with
many performing credits, she has also presented her own choreography
at the Theresa Lang and Red Room Theaters, DTW, SUNY Purchase and Peridance
Center. She is a founding member of DiMauro Dance and a Certified Pilates
Instructor. Annie returns to Steffi Nossen for her sixth year as a Faculty
member, her fifth year as Junior Master Class Teacher and choreographer
and her fourth year as Master Class II Teacher and Choreographer. In
addition she is a member of the Faculty at The Masters School.
KATHLEEN
FITZGERALD
Kathleen was a principal dancer with Frankfurt Ballet as well as Company
Ballet Mistress. She was a soloist with Netherlands Dance Theater I and
Assistant Director of Netherlands Dance Theater II. She toured internationally
with both companies and created and performed works by many distinguished
choreographers including Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, Hans Van Manen,
Nacho Duato, Matts Ek, Bruce Marks, Jennifer Muller, Louis Falco, Christopher
Bruce and others. She has also taught for major European dance companies.
Kathleen holds a BFA in Dance from the North Carolina School of the Arts,.
She begins her twelfth year on our Faculty and her eighth year as School
Director.
ELIZABETH FRANKEL
earned her undergraduate degree at Vassar College and her M.F.A. at NYU’s
Tisch School of the Arts. She performed with Laura Dean, Joyce Trisler
and others. She has taught ballet and modern dance at Vassar and Barat
Colleges and Oxford University. She has been a dance Faculty member
of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts for over 13 years.
JEANIE GAYESKI
served as Head of the Arts
Department and Movement Teacher at the Gillen Brewer School, educating
children with special needs, in New York City. She earned a BA in Art
History and German from the University of Rochester, an MS in Elementary
Education from Hunter College and has completed a Certificate Program
in Dance Education for Children at the 92nd Street Y. She has also trained
in Creative Arts Therapy at Pratt Institute, Yoga and Creative Movement
for children with special needs and recently completed her Vinyaasa Yoga
training. Jeanie begins her fourth year teaching at Steffi Nossen School
of Dance.
MAUREEN GLENNON
holds a BFA in Dance from Montclair University.
She was an original co-founder and has danced professionally with Freespace
Dance. She has also performed with Beyondance, Umoja Dance Co., and Nicholas
Rodriguez & Dance Compass. Maureen currently holds a full-time position
at Somerset Vo-Tech High School, where she is the Dance Education Coordinator
and teaches choreography at County College of Morris. She is the founder
and artistic director of moe-tion dance theater, based in New Jersey.
Maureen returns for her sixth year as a teacher and choreographer at
Steffi Nossen School of Dance.
LAUREN JAEGER
has a B.F.A. in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College and also studied
at the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance, Boston Ballet and Kaatsbaan
International. She tours and performs with Buglisi Dance Theater and
Ballet Ambassadors. Lauren also teaches Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet
for the PeriChild program at Peridance in NYC and modern and ballet
for the Greenwich Dance Studio. She returns to us for her fourth year.
NANCY LUSHINGTON
holds a BA in dance from Adelphi U. She has danced with May O’Donnell,
Joyce Trisler, Theatre Dance Collection, and in Leonard Bernstein’s
“Mass” at Kennedy Center. Nancy serves on the Board of the O’Donnell
Green Foundation for Music and Dance. A member of the faculties of
Marymount College and Montclair State U., she has taught master classes
internationally. After 18 years as teacher, choreographer, and Artistic
Director at Steffi Nossen, Nancy continues as our Artistic Advisor.
JULIE V. MAC
has trained in Jazz, Modern, Tap, Ballet, African and
Hip- Hop for more than 20 years. The recipient of a BA in Dance Studies
with a minor in Theatre from the University of South Florida, her studies
included Choreography, Music for Dance, Dance Kinesiology, Dance History
and Stage Practicum as well as dance technique in many disciplines. Upon
graduation, Julie worked as a dancer and technician at Busch Gardens
in Tampa Bay, appearing in the main stage show “Katonga, Tales of the
Jungle” for two years. She moved to New York in 2006 and worked as a
choreographer at Long Lake Camp for the Arts, returning in 2007, 2008
and 2011 to co-direct and choreograph the inception of Long Lake’s Dance
Intensive. Julie currently serves on the dance faculty of Broadway Training
Center and The Neighborhood Playhouse Junior School in New York City.
She has been Administrative Assistant for the Steffi Nossen School of
Dance/Dance in Education Fund since March 2011 and is delighted to begin
in her additional role of Steffi Nossen Dance Company Director.
TAMI MELE
studied at NYC H.S. of Performing Arts and she holds a BFA in Dance from
Adelphi University with Departmental Honors. Her performance credits
include Collective Dance Company, guest artist with DJ McDonald at
Lincoln Center Summer Arts Festival and the AIDS Benefit sponsored
by Elle Magazine. She is a certified personal trainer, group fitness
instructor and kick-boxing teacher. She begins her nineteenth year
teaching and choreographing at Steffi Nossen and her twelfth year as
our Jazz Ensemble choreographer.
CAREN VALENTE
holds a BA in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College and also trained
at Steps on Broadway and Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. Caren has
taught in the Core curriculum program and currently teaches tap and
jazz technique as she begins her twelfth year with Steffi Nossen. Caren
is a Purchase College adjunct faculty member, teaching dance fitness
through the Purchase College Athletic Department and working as an
administrator with the Youth and Precollege Programs in the Arts.
JILLIAN WRIGHT
is a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College, has a BA in Dance Education
and her NY State teaching certification in Dance. She has trained in
ballet, modern, and jazz and has taught in all genres as well as in
Manhattan public and private schools and at the 92nd St. Y. Mrs. Wright
is also the Finance Specialist for Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts
service organization in NYC. She returns for her eighth year at Steffi
Nossen.
